The aim of this course is to introduce fundamental acoustic and articulatory pho- netics at the introductory level. Along with acoustic phonetics, this course focuses particularly on physiological mechanisms in human’s articulatory system and corre- spondent functions in speech production. Throughout the course, various experimental devices and equipment will be introduced and students will be provided with a number of hands-on practices and exercises. Background in phonetics is preferred. Students with physiology, medical, health sciences, dental background are particularly welcome.
